US Vice President JD Vance will embark on his first official visit to India from April 21 to 24, accompanied by his Indian-origin wife, Usha Chilukuri Vance, and their three children. His arrival at New Delhi’s Air Force Station Palam is scheduled for 9:30 AM IST on Monday, with a formal reception at 10:00 AM.

The visit comes amid rising global trade tensions following US President Donald Trump’s recent announcement of a 26% tariff on Indian goods. Vance is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 6:30 PM the same day at the PM’s residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.
Key discussions will center around the India-US trade agreement and strategies to strengthen bilateral relations. The Indian delegation will include External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, NSA Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and Indian Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, according to the MEA.
