THAI F-16S STRIKE CAMBODIAN TARGETS AMID BORDER ESCALATION

Tensions flared on Thursday as Thailand deployed F-16 fighter jets along its northeastern border with Cambodia following reported attacks by Cambodian forces on Thai military bases. According to the Royal Thai Army, clashes erupted at six locations along the disputed border, prompting an airstrike on a Cambodian military target. One of the six F-16s reportedly crossed into Cambodian territory to carry out the strike, then returned safely.

The Thai military accused Cambodian troops of launching rocket attacks on Sisaket and opening fire on a Thai base in Surin. In response, the Thai interior ministry has begun evacuating civilians from border areas as a precaution.

Cambodia’s Defence Ministry condemned the Thai strikes as unlawful attempts to seize territory, accusing Thailand of using air power and rockets in violation of agreements. Both nations have since traded blame for initiating the clash, with reports of drones and armed soldiers near the Ta Muen Thom temple.
