Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel's war in Gaza will continue, even if a new deal is struck to release more hostages. His statement followed U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to the region and the release of Israeli-American soldier Edan Alexander, negotiated directly by the Trump administration. Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes hit two hospitals in Khan Younis, killing at least eight and wounding dozens. Netanyahu insisted the mission to "destroy Hamas" will not stop, even temporarily.

Hamas demands a permanent ceasefire, prisoner exchanges, and Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. The humanitarian toll is severe; the WHO warns of rising malnutrition among children amid the blockade. Netanyahu also supports a controversial plan, proposed by Trump, to relocate Palestinians out of Gaza. With over 52,800 Palestinians dead and pressure mounting at home, Netanyahu faces growing criticism, even as talks continue in Qatar with U.S. envoys pushing for a diplomatic breakthrough.
