M.A. Kastle (Monica) is an author whose work is shaped by a deep connection to nature, travel, and storytelling. She grew up in a small rural town in Northern California, surrounded by mountains whose beauty and untamed landscapes sparked her imagination. Influenced by a love of fantasy and horror, she developed an early passion for writing, photography, and exploring the world through creative expression.
Driven by curiosity and a desire for experience, Monica spent the next decade travelling across the United States and abroad. Along the way, she encountered diverse places and people, collecting stories and perspectives that would later enrich her writing. These journeys became the foundation of her voice as an author, blending lived experience with imaginative storytelling.
After years of dedication and persistence, she independently published Bone Chimes, the first book in the Cascade Saga, an urban fantasy romance series. She is also the author of the Crimson Trilogy, the Jaded Series, and the dark urban fantasy romance series Moonlight Territory. Her short horror fiction has been featured in Women in Horror Annual (First Edition), Fantasia Divinity Magazine, The Sirens Call, and Whispers in the Dark anthology.
Her latest release, Jaded Hearts, the first book in the Jaded series, continues her exploration of urban fantasy romance. Monica is also an attending author at major literary events, including the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books and the Fairytale After Dark Bookish Market in Goodyear, Arizona.

Ready for a fight, Chenoa faced him, a sneer creasing her face, and her stance of defiance—one hand on her hip, the other on the butt of her gun. If he possessed the ability, Aydian would have laughed. Her coffee-colored eyes swirled with blackberry and disgust, her lips, the color of sweet punch, were slightly parted, like curses feathered them and were waiting for him. She wore her chestnut hair back in a braid and Cascade Intelligence Preternatural’s uniform of a black T-shirt, Cascade’s crest on her back, CIP’s crest and her name over her right breast, and it was tucked into beige BDU pants that hugged her full hips. He had never seen her out of uniform, besides workout clothes, and suddenly he imagined what she looked like wearing civilian clothing.
