Tensions escalated in the Middle East after Iran posted a cryptic message on ‘X’, stating, “We are Ready,” amid reports that Israel is preparing to strike Iran’s nuclear sites. U.S. intelligence fears a retaliatory response, including possible attacks on American assets in Iraq. In response, the U.S. has urged some citizens to leave the region and is relocating military personnel, with President Trump emphasizing, “They can’t have a nuclear weapon.”

Although negotiations recently collapsed, diplomatic efforts continue. U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff is set to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Oman this Sunday to discuss Tehran’s expected counter-proposal. Iran has already dismissed the current U.S. offer as “unacceptable.”
While Washington pushes for a new nuclear deal to limit Iran’s uranium enrichment, it also cites Tehran’s backing of groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis as justification for its firm stance. Trump warns military action remains on the table if talks fail.
