Following India's precision missile strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, border states Rajasthan and Punjab are on high alert. The strikes, a response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, destroyed Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed training centers.

In Rajasthan, which shares a 1,037-km border with Pakistan, security has tightened with shoot-on-sight orders, sealed borders, and anti-drone systems activated. The Indian Air Force suspended flights from Jodhpur, Kishangarh, and Bikaner as Sukhoi-30 MKIs patrol the skies. Schools in several districts are shut, and blackout orders from midnight to 4 am have been issued.
Punjab has also cancelled police leaves, restricted public gatherings, and halted all government programs. Evacuation plans for border villages are in place. India clarified that the strikes were limited to terror infrastructure, not military targets, as tension remains high across the western frontier.
