Tired eyes can make the entire face look dull, but the right makeup techniques can instantly create a radiant and refreshed appearance. By focusing on brightness, definition, and subtle enhancements, you can counteract signs of fatigue such as puffiness, dark circles, and drooping lids.


Start with skincare. A cooling eye gel or patches help reduce puffiness, while a lightweight, hydrating eye cream smooths fine lines. This preps the skin and ensures makeup goes on flawlessly.


Color correct and conceal. Dark circles often require more than concealer alone. Use a peach or orange-toned corrector to neutralize bluish or purplish tones under the eyes, then apply a lightweight concealer that’s one shade lighter than your foundation. Blend well and set lightly with a translucent powder to prevent creasing.

Brighten the inner corners. Applying a hint of shimmery champagne or pearl eyeshadow to the inner corners of the eyes instantly opens them up. This small touch makes eyes appear more awake and vibrant.


Define the lashes. Curling your lashes is a quick way to lift the eyes. Follow with lengthening mascara, focusing on the outer lashes to create a wide-eyed effect. Avoid heavy eyeliner on the lower lash line, as it can accentuate tiredness—opt for a soft brown liner on the upper lash line instead.


Use nude or white liner. A nude or white eyeliner on the waterline helps neutralize redness, making eyes look brighter. Pair this with well-groomed brows, as defined brows lift and frame the eyes.


Highlight strategically. Apply a touch of highlighter under the brow bone and just above the cheekbones. This draws attention away from tired areas and adds a healthy glow.
