Top with shredded chicken, spring onions, ginger, or a drizzle of sesame oil for a soothing meal that’s perfect for breakfast or light dinners.


For a Western twist, try rice pancakes or fritters. Mix rice with eggs, grated cheese, chopped herbs, and a bit of flour. Pan-fry until golden and crisp on the outside. These make excellent snacks or side dishes. You can also use rice as a filling for stuffed peppers or tomatoes—combine it with beans, spices, and vegetables before baking.


Another sweet option is rice pudding. Simmer rice with milk, sugar, and a touch of cinnamon or cardamom until thick and creamy. Add raisins or nuts for extra texture. It’s a simple dessert that feels indulgent yet homely.


Finally, leftover rice works beautifully in soups and salads. Toss chilled rice with cucumbers, lemon juice, olive oil, and fresh herbs for a refreshing rice salad. With a little imagination, leftover rice becomes an opportunity—not waste—turning simple grains into delicious new creations.
